Bad Boy Babysitter – Liam Kingsley

“He couldn’t get enough of Ryan. Something about the young man fascinated him.”

In a word: Read the thing. The plot is not strong with this one, but it was pretty fun. Ryan is a homeless omega who is having a rough go at things, Gideon is a rich widowed alpha with a young son. They’re opposites in nearly every way, but they feel a connection when they first meet and can’t help but be drawn to each other. They both come up with several reasons as to why they shouldn’t be together, but in the end they just can’t help themselves. The romance was very close to insta-love territory, but as this is a story about wolf shifters with destined mates it didn’t bother me too much. The main drive of the story is Ryan and Gideon falling in love with each other and trying to avoid their feelings because Gideon is technically Ryan’s employer (Ryan babysits Gideon’s son) and he doesn’t want to take advantage of him. I really admire this about Gideon, though it’s really futile here because they both seem like decent people and their feelings are so strong that all we want is for them to get together. The bulk of the story is devoted to Ryan and Gideon’s relationship development and how they go from strangers to husbands over the course of a few months. There’s a subplot about Ryan being terrorized by an alpha cop, but I don’t feel like that gets the necessary amount of time to play out. There’s also some drama surrounding both Ryan and Gideon’s families that I would’ve liked more of, but whatever. Also there’s some prejudice against shifters that I wish we’d also gone deeper with. This story is meant to be fairly low-angst (rapist cop aside) so of course the focus would be on Ryan and Gideon’s romance (which is fairly drama free). Either way, this was a fun read and I enjoyed the story.

The Summary: (from Goodreads) A Wolf Shifter Mpreg Romance

A well-to-do alpha father. A bad-boy omega babysitter. Could they be fated mates?

Handsome alpha wolfshifter Gideon had his youth stolen by an arranged, loveless marriage, and despite his affluent lifestyle and a son he loves dearly, there’s something missing.

Enter omega Ryan, who is anything but affluent. When Gideon calls on the tasty young bad-boy to babysit Gideon’s son Noah, a spark between them ignites, but will the flames burn bright enough to overcome their differences?

Animalistic lust runs deep between these two opposites in The Alpha’s Babysitter, a 50,000-word gay paranormal wolfshifter mpreg tale. Intense sexual content makes this slow-burn gay romance a story intended only for adults.
